Morality, Virtue, Perseverance, and Love are What the PM and First Lady Taught Their Children

PHNOM PENH: The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and the Commander of the Army, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, has presented four proverbs that the Prime Minister and First Lady always used to discipline their children.

Those proverbs are:

1. Do not act as the son of the Prime Minister, but act as the son of a farmer.

2. Respect for people should not be based on their wealth or their lineage... but on goodwill.

3. One must study hard... because knowledge is important for oneself and the nation.

4. Do only good deeds and know how to help each other when needed.

Lt. Gen. Hun Manet wrote in a post on his Facebook page that many grandmothers, grandfathers, uncles, and aunts had told him that his parents raised their children very well, as children who are meek, gentle, respectful to adults, and know how to love one another.

The Lt. Gen. thanked everyone for making such comments and stated that these results are because his parents always educated and taught their children about morality, virtue, perseverance, and love.

He wrote, "These results are due to my two benefactors, my father and my mother, who always instruct all children to do good deeds, adhere to morality, virtue, perseverance, and love, to help each other since my siblings were young."
